Early Obstetric Care FAQs
What makes Complete Healthcare for Women different?
The practice embraces a high standard of health care for women and seeks to make each patient’s experience personal. The goal is to make each visit as pleasant and helpful as possible. We encourage each patient to ask questions and to maintain good communication throughout the pregnancy and beyond.
What pregnancy services does Complete Healthcare for Women offer?
Complete Healthcare for Women offers state-of-the-art, on-site ultrasound, and prenatal testing. Ultrasound provides accurate diagnostic imaging for obstetrics and gynecology. We utilize the latest in ultrasound equipment to provide our patients with the “gold standard” of imaging machines. All of our technicians are registered diagnostic ultrasonographers who are committed to providing our patients with the best possible service in a comfortable and caring environment.
How will the practice guide me through my pregnancy?
In addition to regular prenatal visits to check on your health and the growth and health of your baby, Dr. Lorenzo and his staff will offer support about how to care for your body during pregnancy.
How should I change my diet during pregnancy?
You don’t have to eat a special diet during pregnancy, plan on meals that contain plenty of whole, unprocessed foods, such as lean proteins, whole grains, fruits and vegetables, healthy fats, and dairy. Dr. Lorenzo will also recommend you take a prenatal vitamin to give you the nutrients — particularly folic acid, iron, calcium, and vitamin D — that might be deficient in your diet and support a healthy pregnancy. You must take this vitamin as directed daily.

Dr. Lorenzo and Kortney Jones will also help you navigate weight gain, which will likely be about 25 to 35 pounds, depending on your starting weight and health.
What lifestyle adjustments should I make during pregnancy?
If you smoke or use drugs or alcohol, it’s time to quit. Any of these substances can interfere with a healthy pregnancy and fetus.

It’s safe to exercise during pregnancy unless you have a specific condition identified by Dr. Lorenzo, such as certain heart issues or severe anemia. If you’re concerned about the intensity of the workouts you’ve chosen or are new to exercise and don’t know where to start, talk with the doctor for guidance.
